Second time in this blog. Good posting. Look at the positive side. The boy came back and asked whether he can get it for 2.50. How many of us would have done it after hearing no from the person? There lies the urge in the young boy wanting to get what he likes. The urge/desire/wish/will is important. Rest all will follow.
